One might have thought that, as an art form, 'twerking' had run its course. But one teenager from the US state of Georgia demonstrated that there were still twerking avenues to be explored: namely twerking out of the passenger door of a car – while it is in motion.

Unfortunately, this feat proved as dangerous as it may sound: the individual in question lost their grip and fell into the road.

Thankfully she was not harmed.

She was merely described as "ashy" by her friend – the same girl who filmed the incident and posted it to Instagram – perhaps much to the twerker’s annoyance. The clip was seized upon by the world of social media and has so far racked up 6.5 million views.

The 18 year old 'twerker' performed the globally famous squatting dance whilst hanging out of the passenger side of the car in question, with her arms waving in the air. K Camp's 'Lil Bit' provided the sound track to the misadventure.

While the accident has provided much amusement across the social media landscape, the clip will no doubt deter others from such an evel knievel-style twerking performance.

Unlike cars, which can be repaired with the help of a car breakdown insurance policy or garage, humans are seldom so easily patched up; this perilous feat is a reminder of how things can go badly wrong when unnecessary risks are taken.

Twerking is clearly best attempted in stationary environments.
