Lamborghini Aventador (swisshippo/Bisgstock.com)

Road rage is usually a phenomenon suffered by motorists, but pedestrians can get very wound up on the road too, as one Californian Lamborghini driver recently discovered.

The motorist was driving up and down a usually-quiet residential street in Playa Vista in his Aventador, and was apparently making a good deal of noise in the process. The growling Italian engine was not music to the ears of one local man, who came out of his home to admonish the supercar driver.

The whole episode was captured on a bystander’s phone. Stephen Zinn filmed the angry resident shouting “keep racing”, “keep doing it”, before the scene reached a ferocious climax.

According to Zinn, who was interviewed by the Telegraph, the man was angry about the constant noise of the car racing up and down the street, and about the skid marks left by the 700hp Italian supercar.

In his rage, the man threw a stone at the car, the impact of which can be clearly heard on the audio track of the amateur footage.

The car came to a sudden stop after the first stone throw, but as the angry resident made for a second attack, the driver of the £290,000 Lamborghini decided to cut his or her losses and made off down the road for a final time – perhaps precluding a visit from their car breakdown provider.

The video was viewed over 400,000 times on YouTube since it was uploaded on 24 May but has since been removed due to a copyright claim. You can watch an alternative copy on You Tube, but be warned it does contain some swearing.
