After just celebrating its 10th anniversary, the value for money breakdown provider, has achieved Which? Recommended Provider status for the second year running, firmly placing it as a brand to consider if you are looking to save on motoring costs.

Breakdown customers are clearly identifying with the brand, its reasonable prices and ease in making a claim, as Start Rescue’s Managing Director, Lee Puffett explains.

‘’Providing the best service and value for money has always been our priority since we launched in November 1999. We work closely with our network of independent recovery operators to ensure we provide the best service at the roadside, but we also ensure our customer service colleagues are fully equipped to provide a professional, friendly service to our customers when they need to purchase a policy or need assistance. This has clearly been recognised within our survey results, online reviews and the latest Which? survey’’ he continues,

‘’You could say we are nuggets of gold waiting to be discovered by the majority. We invest heavily in service and technology before marketing spend, placing service first for our loyal customers in return for a reasonably priced breakdown policy. Our app is proving to be very popular with our customers with 27% of all claims being made through either the app or an online link and this number is constantly growing.’’

Start Rescue’s app, designed and built in house, enables customers to not only report their claim, but they can self-service all the way through their claim if they prefer - without even needing to talk to anyone until assistance arrives. This approach provides customers with a choice for their individual circumstances. Currently under trial through the app is a recovery vehicle tracking service where the movements of the assisting vehicle can be monitored until its arrival. Similar to taxi and parcel delivery service apps, this latest addition ensures customers are provided with services they now expect through their day to day lives.

Start Rescue also rewards loyalty by always promising renewing customers they will never pay more than a new customer for the same cover.

There is an established pedigree behind the 10-year-old brand as it’s a trading style and direct brand of Call Assist Rescue, the Colchester based vehicle breakdown company. Established in 1998 and providing a service behind many other brands and 1.8 million customers, Call Assist provides the service behind 3 of the top 5 companies featured within the latest Which? report on breakdown cover.

Start Rescue’s 3 Star cover which includes roadside assistance, nationwide recovery and home assist costs just £38.77 for a year based on a 3-year-old vehicle or just £42.27 for a 7-year-old vehicle. Combining this low-cost pricing with 96.29% of customers recommending the service following a claim and a response time of 44 minutes, is now a serious and established contender within the motor breakdown market.
