A startrescue.co.uk story...

Sloppy or deliberately bad parking is an issue that can rile even the most relaxed motorist. But how to deal with offenders? Leaving a car straddling two parking spaces, or at a jaunty angle, is hardly a ticketing offence.

But one man has come up with a passive aggressive solution that shouldn’t lead to fisty-cuffs outside the supermarket or office.

The US driver in question leaves a picture of a turtle from a colouring book under offenders' windscreen wipers, with a line of text that reads: 'Maybe if you practice colouring this turtle, it will help you with your parking'.

The tactic has been revealed by a 'friend' of the angry motorist called Bill Caswell, although some suggest Caswell is in fact the man behind the turtle.

On his website Caswell says: 'We’ve all seen it. Some ***hat thinks his car is nicer than everyone else’s car and takes up two spots to prevent his door from being dinged. There’s really nothing you can do. As car people, we would never damage another person’s car. I’ve heard stories of letting the air out of the tires so he’s stuck there for a while. But really there’s nothing you can do. Especially because police rarely write parking tickets in private parking lots'

Caswell suggests that leaving the colouring book picture could be a more effective solution than sending a picture of the bad parking job to Jalopnik – a site that names and shames bad drivers. He says his 'friend' always has a few copies in his glove box.

Keen to help other angry drivers deal with the problem of bad parking, Caswell has provided a downloadable copy of the colouring book turtle – find it here.

But Caswell is open to any other ideas as regards dealing with the world's unaccomplished parkers.

What do you think of the colouring book note? Would it work in the UK?
