For most of us, the Christmas break is a period to eat, drink and be merry with family and friends. But with relatives often dispersed across the country, thousands of people find themselves driving long distances during the festive period. So what happens if you suffer a vehicle breakdown at Christmas time?

Christmas Protection

Just as the emergency services operate over the festive period, so too do startrescue.co.uk's breakdown rescue operatives. Breaking down at any time of year is bad enough, but a Christmas breakdown brings its own particular problems: it may mean arriving late for a Christmas party, and it may involve dealing with very cold temperatures, ice, wind and snow. Such weather conditions can make breaking down more likely (particularly in relation to car batteries) – but wintry weather can also make a breakdown harder to deal with.

40 Minute Average Response Time

It's no fun waiting for roadside assistance in the cold – and especially not at night. Luckily, startrescue.uk breakdown operatives have an average response time of just 40 minutes. That means customers are often either back on the road or towed to a garage very quickly – which in turn means Christmas engagements can usually be kept.

Alternative Transport

Of course, there are times when a vehicle cannot be repaired as swiftly as necessary. Fortunately, all our five roadside breakdown cover packages come with Alternative Transport, which means we pay up to £100 towards the cost of alternative transport or car hire if the vehicle is being repaired 20 miles away from the registered home address and cannot be repaired within one working day or a period agreed by the Rescue Controller.

Overnight Accommodation

All of our cover options also include Overnight Accommodation, which we may decide to pay if we feel it is necessary.

Peace of Mind This Christmas

Here at startrescue.co.uk we are proud to join the millions of people who keep Britain functioning over the festive period – from health workers to carers, from police to firefighters. Rest assured we will be there to help as quickly as possible if you suffer a Christmas breakdown.
